Political party leaders including Khaleda attended an Jamaat’s Iftar party

Aug 6, 2011

Leaders of different political parties, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, attended an Iftar party organised by Jamaat-e-Islami.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmad hosted an Iftar Mahfil at Winter Garden of Rupshi Bangla (Hotel Sheraton) in honour of eminent citizens of the country including intellectuals, lawyers, university teachers, poets, litterateurs, journalists, former military and civil officials, engineers, Ulama-Mashaikh, businessmen and agriculturists today 6th August 2011 at 4:45 pm.

Jamaat acting Ameer Mokbul Ahmed and acting secretary general ATM Azharul Islam received the guests at the Iftar party.

LDP Chairman Col (Retd) Oli Ahmed, four-party alliance leaders BJP Chairman Andalib Rahman MP, Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana M Ishaq and IOJ Secretary General Abdul Latif Nezami, BNP leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Dr RA Gani, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, leaders of JAGPA, NPP, Muslim League, Labour Party and Islamic Party also attended the Iftar.

On the eve of Iftar Acting Ameer-e-Jamaat Maqbul Ahmad in his brief speech said, “I express my immense gratitude to Almighty Allah for enabling us to attend the Iftar Mahfil here on the eve Iftar in the month of Holy Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah, I on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami express gratitude to you for participating in this Iftar Mahfil responding to our invitation in the midst of awful pre-occupation. Alongside that I on behalf of the detained 5 top Jamaat leaders including Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami extend sincerest thanks to you. You know that they have been detained in prison for more than thirteen months in the so-called false and conspiratorial war crime case. They are deprived of getting chance to fast in an open atmosphere during the month of holy Ramadhan.

The holy Ramadhan is a month of mercy, forgiveness and salvation from the hell. In this sacred month the greatest divine book Al-Quran which is the criterion between truth and falsehood was revealed in this holy month on the most dignified night Lailatul Qadr. It shows the righteous path to mankind. The Holy Quran has brought the simple and easy way to humanity with a view to bringing about salvation and welfare of the people of the world.  Peace, happiness and prosperity can be established through the way shown by the Quran.

Today we observe social and moral degradation and alarmingly worsening of values in our all sides. There is injustice, oppression and suppression everywhere in our country. The safety and security to the lives and properties of the people of the country are now at a stake. Murder, killing, rape, abduction have already made public life topsy-turvy. There is no rule of the law in the country. Only Islam can get rid humanity of this critical situation. It is possible for men to refrain from all kind of injustices and misdeeds through creating fear of Allah in the minds of the people. The holy Ramadhan has arrived with the fear of Allah i.e. the teaching of attaining the trait like Taqwa (self-restraint).

The main teaching of the greatest divine book Al-Quran revealed in the month of holy Ramadhan is to promote the good deeds and forbid the evil-deeds. This means that to protest against injustice, untrue and false and resist it. May the Almighty Allah grant us leading towards the way shown by the holy Quran.”

Abdus Subhan conducted Doa praying to Allah for peace and welfare of the Muslim Ummah including Bangladesh and particularly sound health and immediate release of all detained opposition leaders and workers including Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee, Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, Assistant Secretaries General Mohammad Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Quader Molla.
